Minimum requirements:
In order to access and use this application your computer must meet the following
minimum requirements:
- Must have Microsoft Internet Explorer on a PC, version 8.0 (higher is recommended),
or FireFox 3 (higher is recommended).
- Have a screen/monitor set to 1280 x 1024 or higher and 32 bit
colors or better (this is optional, but highly recommended).
- Submitters, Reviewers, Moderators and Admin must have valid logins for access.
Browser setup: In order for the site to be viewed correctly, your browser
must be set up properly. Most browsers default to the following settings and should
not need to be changed.
- ENABLE SCRIPTING
Microsoft Internet Explorer Users: from your browser toolbar go to TOOLS > INTERNET
OPTIONS > SECURITY then click Custom Level button and go
Scripting/Active Scripting then select Enable. Click Ok then Yes in the
confirmation dialog and again click OK button.
- ACCEPT COOKIES
Microsoft Internet Explorer Users: from your browser toolbar go to TOOLS > INTERNET
OPTIONS > PRIVACY> ADVANCED > ACCEPT and then select ACCEPT.
- TEXT SIZE (Optional if you have text missalignments or field wrapping problems)
from your browser toolbar go to VIEW > TEXT SIZE and then select Small or Smallest
ACCESS RIGHTS Certain areas of the website are intended for administrative use,
submitter, reviewer, undergraduate or graduate moderator ONLY. These areas of the
web application require a lotus notes e-mail/group e-mail account.
Students receive emergency messages about 15 minutes after they are sent; they receive.
non-emergency messages the morning after the moderator
approves the messages and clicks the “Send” button.
Submitter: A person who has a lotus notes e-mail account to submit e-mails
intended for students. These submissions go to a reviewer and then to a moderator.
Reviewer: A person designated by a UNLV department on behalf of a Vice
Presidential area to review messages. There are approximately 12-20 individuals across campus who
review messages.
Trusted Submitter: A designated person from UNLV who submits emergency
messages. This individual is typically associated with Public Safety and/or Public Relations.
Moderator: The person who reads all the messages collected for each week and sends the message.
Students: The intended recipients broken into five categories.
- Freshman
- Sophomore
- Junior
- Senior
- Graduates and Professionals
This application will not be available during backup times on weekends.
* The help windows are movable and resizable. You can double click on the
window's title bar to maximize it or you can drag using the window's title bar.
You can also resize it using the right bottom corner by clicking and dragging it.
LOGIN TIP FOR SUBMITTERS, REVIEWERS, MODERATORS and ADMIN
- Make sure that CAPS LOCK is not activated on the keyboard when you type
your e-mail and password.
